LANGUAGE: English. ABSTRACT: A method for the approximate solution of the spinner's homogeneous equation of
motion with non linear Magnus moment is presented. This method is related to energy methods
in which the energy accumulated in the nutation and precession modes during one nutation is
equal to the work done on the projectile by the transversal forces and moments. Its
application to the linear case gives a solution identical to the analytical one. The
method is further tested by comparison with a numerical computer solutions of the non linear
equation, and is found to give an excellent approximation to the exact solution. It is
possible to map the solution on the state plane of the precession and nutation amplitude and
to investigate the motion's stability problems.
