The Founding Conference
of the
International Association for Relativistic Dynamics - IARD
The International Association for Relativistic Dynamics
was founded in a conference held in Houston, Texas during
9-11 February 1998. So, this conference
had then another name - PRQT Conference.
Later it also was called IARD1998.
PRQT stands for Parametrized Relativistic Quantum Theory.
PRQT Conference decided to widen the areas of interest to
other areas of Relativistic Dynamics too.
One of the founders, Professor John R. Fanchi from
Colorado School of Mines, USA,
who already has written the first
book
on this subject (published in 1993), became then the first IARD president,
until 2006.
Then Martin Land, another founder of IARD, was elected as the second president of IARD.
Other founders of IARD contributed significantly to the success of IARD.
Professor Lawrence P. Horwitz organized IARD2000, IARD2004 and
IARD2008 conferences, as well as
being editor of
all IARD conferences' proceedings.
Professor Tepper L. Gill organized IARD2002 Conference.
Professor Ronald L. Mallet organized IARD2006 Conference.
Martin Land organized IARD2010 and IARD2012 Conferences
Professor Philip Mannheim and James O'Brien organized IARD2014 Conference.
Professor Matej Pavsic organized IARD2016 Conference.
Some founders and other members wrote
books
on these subjects.
All founders, as well as new members, contributed important
and very interesting subjects for
lectures
and papers.
The lecturers in
IARD conferences
came from ~30+ countries around the world, in addition
to USA.
All these and other contributions were made voluntarily by IARD members.

Until now IARD conferences were held in even years, usually alternating between
west and east halves
of the globe. The official language of the conferences and publications is
English, yet the lecturers in
IARD conferences came from ~30+ countries around the world, in addition to USA.
Until now usually
IARD conferences were held in different locations, including USA
(that speaks English) and
countries that speak other languages. Until now most IARD conferences were held
during June.
